Mid-Level Copywriter
(slash awesome human)
Experienced candidates only
At Fair Folk, we believe that treating people fairly inspires fairness in return. We're a tight-knit team of nine creatives who value collaboration, kindness, and hard work. We're on the lookout for a mid-level copywriter to join our boutique shop—someone who's ready to bring their talent and heart to our shared table (which has a view of some of Boston’s best sunsets BTW).
Our studio loft space is beautiful, so you might want to come in every day—but we usually only ask that you come in once a week. If you prefer to work remotely the rest of the time, go for it (we do).
What You'll Do:
Write, a lot. Headlines, scripts, manifestos, emails, social copy, brand campaigns—you name it.
Think before you type. Strategy and concept come first; the words follow.
Collaborate openly. Work closely with art directors, designers, production partners, and clients to create meaningful work.
Embrace feedback. Approach critiques with grace and use them as opportunities to grow.
Manage projects. Take ownership of your work, from initial idea to final execution.
Engage with clients. Present your ideas and build relationships based on trust and mutual respect.
What You Need to Bring:
3–5 years of copywriting experience at an agency or in-house creative team.
A portfolio that proves you can write.
A clear point of view. Understand what makes good copy effective and be ready to discuss your choices.
Self-sufficiency. You can self-edit, self-start, and self-manage while staying engaged with the team. Attention to detail is a given, but so is showing up for each other.
Versatility. Adapt your writing to different clients, mediums and audiences with ease.
People skills. Enjoy working directly with clients and colleagues in a collaborative environment. This is a must!
Essential Skills:
Multifaceted writing ability. Comfortable crafting ad campaigns, long-form storytelling, naming, social media, and UX writing.
Digital savvy. Understand how writing varies across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, email, and web.
Brand insight. Work within existing brand guidelines and contribute to developing new ones.
Self-editing. Your work should be intentional, well-crafted, grammatically sound, and free of unnecessary fluff.
Self-motivation. Thrive in a fast-paced setting, manage your workload independently, and meet expectations with confidence–we trust you to own it.
Bonus Skills:
Brand identity development. Experience crafting brand manifestos, missions, and taglines.
SEO knowledge. Ability to create engaging copy that also appeals to search engines.
Campaign development. Involvement in building comprehensive 360° campaigns.
Presentation prowess. Confidence in presenting ideas to clients and internal teams.
Production. Experience with pre-, during, and post-production for video and stills.

If this sounds like a place where you can thrive, we’d love to see your portfolio. Send us your best work, and let’s see if we’re a good fit.
How to Apply
Send your resume and portfolio to jobs@fairfolk.com with a subject line that’s obvious—but also a little entertaining. (Show us you’ve got range.)
